Terms of use

Using aireio

aireio is free to use, on the website and in the iPhone app. Place details are gathered from Google, OpenStreetMap and other users and may be out of date or wrong. Check opening hours before you travel. We are not responsible for what you find when you arrive.

You must be 18 or older

To create an account you must be at least 18. Work sessions and check-ins exist so that people who do not know each other can meet in person, and that is for adults.

No objectionable content, no abusive behaviour

There is no tolerance here for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post, in a review, photo, caption, list, profile, session note or check-in:

  • anything sexually explicit, or nudity;
  • hate, slurs or attacks on anyone for who they are, or threats and harassment;
  • graphic violence, or anything illegal;
  • someone else's personal information, including photos of people who have not agreed to be posted;
  • spam, advertising, or anything you do not have the right to post.

The same goes for how you treat people you meet through aireio. We remove content that breaks these rules, and we suspend or close the accounts that post it, without warning.

Reporting and blocking

Every review, photo, profile, list, session and check-in has a flag for reporting it, and so does every place; you do not need an account to use it. You can block anyone from their profile or from the flag on anything they posted: after that, neither of you sees the other's posts, check-ins or sessions, and neither can join the other's sessions. Every photo is also checked automatically before it appears.

We act on every report within 24 hours. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and the account that posted it is suspended. If we decide a report is mistaken, the content stays up, and a signed-in reporter is told.

Contributing

When you rate a place or add a detail, you are describing your own experience for other people to rely on. Keep it honest. Do not add a Wi-Fi password the venue asks you not to share.

You keep ownership of what you write and the photos you take. You give aireio permission to show them on the site and in the app and to combine them with other people's contributions. Photos you add to a place stay up if you delete your account, without your name; you can remove any of them yourself first.

If you report that a place has closed or has the wrong details, we may pass that on to OpenStreetMap as a public map note, without your name, so the map everyone uses gets fixed too.

Meeting people

Sessions and check-ins are for meeting in public places, and we do not check who anyone is. Use your own judgement, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings; the privacy policy says what that erases and what stays without your name.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will update the date above. Questions go to the contact page.
